I started buying and selling domains back in 1997. Many folks from back then have come and gone sadly. But the game continues without some side lined players. It was a crazy time back then. I missed registrations by less than 24 hours on many occasions. People like me could not afford to go to sleep for fear of losing an opportunity. It was not easy trying to out guess your competitors. I quickly learned that I would only be able to register obscure domains because the really valuable ones were all gone already.

I could go on and on about the past 27 years but I will not waste your time about ancient history. What I will say is that despite 99% of the good domains already being claimed, there are still chances to find a great domain for $12. Take this domain Firztly.com. Hard to believe, but I just claimed as mine a few months ago. It's unique, it's brandable, it's one word and clearly has positive connotations. I would not part with it for less than $500K. Those are all of the things that one needs for a successful domain name. I plan on posting my thoughts about the world of domains frequently. So be sure to check periodically.
