This is our inaugural post on our new blog. In 1997 I purchased my first domain from what was then the only registrar for all dotcoms. The cost was $75 and it got me a two year registration. I was late to the party by then and only long shot domains remained. But none the less, I managed to register 200+ dotcoms over the course of the next 12 months. At that time there was already domain flipping going on. And of course there was also cyber squatting going on as corporate America got caught with their knickers down around their ankles. But it didnt take long before the lobbyists invaded congress and go them all to pass a law that made cyber squatting illegal.
